Professor James Higham is a Distinguished Professor of sustainable tourism – with an honorary role at the University of Otago and a full time role at Griffith University, Brisbane Australia. He is incredibly well respected in his field, globally. He is also well published – with many dozens of research reports, articles and academic outputs to his name.
In 2023, Professor Higham asked yBC to help him with his online profile. He was conscious that, whilst well known within his field, he wanted to ensure his work reached more people.
We were delighted to help.
First, we built a home of Professor Higham’s back catalogue of research, reports, writing, lectures and other resources. We created news stories to chronicle his recent achievements. We developed a visual language and simple brand guidelines, and jameshigham.com was born.

The website features all of Professor Higham’s work, but gives particular focus to James’s key work, and enables people to quickly understand who he is, what he does, and why it’s worth connecting with him.
It’s also the home of Professor Higham’s new podcast – Checking In – which we also developed and now produce fortnightly for him. You can listen to all episodes here. They are also available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
We’re also working with James on additional elements of his profile including his media outreach, his contacts database and how and when he communicates with his contacts to update them.
All of which is making a huge difference to Professor Higham’s profile, the amount he connects with people, and how “front of mind” he is.
