Interview: former TfL director/safety chair says London buses “institutionally unsafe”

A fortnight ago, yBC’s Mark Sinclair interviewed Michael Liebreich for the podcast Extraordinary. You can listen to the episode here.

[Update 27.02.25: the 16 minute video clip has now been embedded below]

After the podcast interview ended but the podcast studio was still rolling, Mark asked Michael about his connection with TfL – Transport for London and his thoughts on London buses. TfL is the organisation which runs London’s Underground network and also London buses. Michael is an ex board director, and also previous head of their Safety Committee, so he knows TfL (and London buses) very well.

What followed was 15 minutes of – quite frankly – astounding information about the safety (or distinct lack thereof) of London Buses.

It’s best if we leave Michael to explain this in his own words, so we are editing up this portion of the video now, to share.
