Promoting the digital mindset

If you haven’t heard of TED, it ‘s worth checking out. A non-profit devoted to “ideas worth spreading”, TED has international as well as local events, like the TEDx New St event I helped Ecademy chairman Thomas Power develop a presentation for last month. Thomas joined an impressive line up of speakers from the marketing and digital media worlds to talk about why better human understanding will be key to business success in the future.

Thomas’ contribution drew on his philosophies about what it takes to develop a truly “digital mindset” – in particular the need to change from being closed, selective and controlling (CSC) and embrace open, random and supportive behaviour (ORS).

If you haven’t yet explored these concepts I’d recommend you do so. It will challenge your ideas about where organisations and people who work for them will operate in the next decade or two.
